...Here we are to sing you a song. There you are asleep again...

So I haven't updated in awhile as some people might have noticed. Whenever I come back it's hard to write entries because they're pretty much just a summary of what has been happening while I was not updating.
OK. So the famine. Hmmm. I don't know about that one. Please don't ever let my career be a concert promoter. Although I must say the show was as good as it could have been for putting it together in 5 days.
We actually had bands. The bands were the hardest organizational part. Mostly because they're like "oh, we'd love to play" and then the next day they're like "umm yeah, no. we can't play anymore." Everything bad that could happen, happened to my bands. Working (understandable), band break ups, grandmothers dying (I didn't fully believe this one until someone from another band confirmed it), flying lessons. So in the end the line up consisted of two acoustic guitar boys (one who's band couldn't play, one who's band broke up) and Is Grace Enough. Is Grace Enough only ever played one show before the famine but they sound like they have been together for years. They sound like what Thursady would have been if they formed when they were 19. Mixed with Finch. But more screaming. Actually not at all like Finch except for the screaming.
Funny moment: Is Grace Enough's screamer soundchecking his screamer microphone:
Chris: "Screamer, can you check your mic?"
Screamer with one of the drummer's drum bag things on his head: "Want me to scream?"
Chris: "Yes."
Screamer (braces himself in his hardcore stance): "ARRRRGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!"
It was great. Except for no one showing up. I made flyers (they were very nice considering how unartistic I am) but could only pass them out the day before because my bands would not confirm that they were playing or not playing until then. We passed out 86 flyers and 3 people came. Three!!! It was so sad. Is Grace Enough brought some people and there were some skaters who just happened to be at the skate park at the same time. But three!!! Ohhhhh. So sad.
Overall the famine went well. I think the final count was just under $2000. My show raised $0 but at least we did it entirely for free. But it still would've been nice to raise more than nothing. Oh well.
Yeah that's the only interesting thing that has happened to me since the last time I updated.
Except that I should be at a battle of the bands right now at Barrymore's if Chris didn't get sick and had to go to the doctor's and if Courtney was able to walk. Those are both good reasons why not to go however. It was kinda expensive anyway.
