...I see your mouth in slow motion when you sing...

I am finally going to write about the Incubus concert. Ok, first of all, you need some background info. The only Canadian date was in Hamilton, ie a city in the middle of nowhere that scared me and had no restaurants to eat in. The drive down was fun. Lots of Yahtzee playing, communal Morning View listening, eating Wendi's, and singing to John Mayer.
For some reason we went into Hamilton really early thinking there would be things to do, but really, there wasn't. We ended up walking over the mall trying to find Swiss Chalet in the 40 degree weather. And guess who we see up there doing an interview? Jason and Alex. Just sitting there, looking good, and doing an interview. If I had their cd I would have got it signed but because I didn't and because it was REALLY hot outside, we continued searching for Swiss Chalet.
Fast forward to before the concert. Me KRIS and SAM are just standing in line waiting to get in, and who walks buy us but Darren from Phantom Planet. "Heyyyyyyy, isn't that..." "Yeah..." No one else knew who it was, but me and Kris, we knew.
Our seats weren't that bad considering that Copps is SO small. I didn't bring a camera and I should have because they had a full stage screen set up, complete with a ramp, multi-levels, and a couch.
Phantom Planet was good but the crowd was obviously there to see Incubus. They were dead. Then at intermission they started moshing and before the concert even started two people fainted. There was alot of finger pointing by Phantom Planet, which I enjoyed, as well as alot of group playing, rolling, and unnecessary amounts of drumstick throwing.
Incubus opened with Circles and it was AMAZING. This is more or less their setlist in no particular order:
Ccircles
Nice To Know You
Stellar
Pardon Me (acoustic)
Drive
Warning
Are You In
Mexico
Just A Phase
A Certain Shade of Green
Vitamin
New Skin
Glass
Privelage
Make Yourself
Battlestar Scralatchtica
Echo
Wish You Were Here
Nowhere Fast
An acoustic improv
The Warmth
Aqueous Transmission
It was really one of the best concerts I've ever been to. They sound very close to what they do on their cd. Not like some other bands (*cough* I'm not going to name names)
Brandon took his shirt of and he was wearing long shorts with rolled up socks like in the Warning video. It was great. Favourite song was definitely Aqueous Transmission. Dirk had an electric stand up bass and everything. It was so GOOD.
I would just like to say that Chart magazine is getting really big. They're magazine comes wrapped in plastic. In plastic! Now Kris can't read the bad boy without me knowing.
